Steel Plant Automation
A steel plant was producing usable fuel gas for their processes. The project involved:
- Automating the gas mixing plant in the steel line
- Integration of solenoid valves into the system
- Ratio parameter logic — for mixing ratio parameters
- Gas mixing logic — for proper proportion of gases
- Development of screens
Implementation
- Simatic Manager 5.5 , WinCC SCADA V7.2 (CPU 400H System)
- I/O counts: 200 Plus
- Customized block and faceplate to meet customer requirements
- Communication between Engineering Station(ES) and Operating Station(OS) through Ethernet
Outcome
The customer could achieve:
- Reduction in manpower & operational costs with centralised operation
- Reduction in maintenance time and cost
- Data logging of all parameters with limits
