Coal Handling Plant Automation
Customer was exploring integrated automation solutions for increasing productivity to meet the higher demand for coal.
Implementation
The entire project was divided into:
- Wagon control system
- Conveyor control system
- Fault annunciation system
A system was designed using:
- Ultrasonic level measurement devices
- Mass flowmeters to ensure accurate flow measurement
- Pressure sensors to control the axis of the cyclone and subsequent discharges
Outcome
- Developed the capability to detect exact position of faults through user interface
- Built the ability to calibrate all operations of transducer and actuators prior to actual functioning
- Created a faster, real-time decision-making environment
