Body in White Automation
Scope of the project included:
- Capacity expansion of a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) model line
- New fixtures on Left Hand (LH), Right Hand (RH) and DASH LINE
- Addition to robotics stations in the existing line to increase capacity
Implementation
- Siemens S7 PLC with Sinamics Drives
- SCADA software for operator control
- Logged data in an external device for data access, retrieval and analysis
Outcome
- Line capacity increased from 27 to 35 Jobs Per Hour (JPH)
- Data login and production per hour details provided for LH, RH and DASH LINE stations
- Improved line efficiency and capacity with addition of fixtures and robotic stations
- Reduction in maintenance cost with installation of all critical alarms
