Background

Customer was exploring integrated automation solutions for increasing productivity to meet the higher demand for coal.

Implementation

The entire project was divided into:

  • Wagon control system
  • Conveyor control system
  • Fault annunciation system

A system was designed using:

  • Ultrasonic level measurement devices
  • Mass flowmeters to ensure accurate flow measurement
  • Pressure sensors to control the axis of the cyclone and subsequent discharges

Outcome

  • Developed capability to detect exact position of faults through user interface
  • Ability to calibrate all operations of transducer and actuators prior to actual functioning
  • Provided faster real-time decision-making environment
